One of the local animal feeders, Aban, had directed us towards Louis. As with most of these stories, his injuries were quite severe. A gash on his scruff that extended to parts of his face, Louis was lucky to not be infested by maggots. Closing up the injury however was still a gargantuan task, for these kinds of massive injuries are quite uncommon. The first operation failed even, with his stitches coming out on the third day due to the size of the wound. Eventually he healed after many gradual surgeries. Even though he’s quite old compared to most of our rescues, there are a whole bunch of ‘Puss in Boots’ moments with him. He’s also been a great foster father to a lot of our rescues, making it no wonder that he’s been christened ‘Lu-Lu Papa’.
